This evolution raises fundamental questions: does generative artificial intelligence threaten human creativity, or does it enrich it? Recent research reveals a nuanced landscape. On one hand, it can stimulate divergent thinking, accelerate idea generation, and provide new perspectives. In fields like marketing, music, or the arts, it acts as a catalyst, helping professionals explore new concepts or refine their projects. However, this collaboration between humans and machines is not without risks. Excessive use of these tools can encourage intellectual passivity. These pitfalls remind us that creativity is not just about producing novelty but must also incorporate a responsible dimension.

Studies also show that the relationship between humans and generative artificial intelligence is dynamic and contextual. It can take various forms, ranging from simple technical assistance to symbiotic collaboration, where the machine and the human co-create. In some cases, even the tool’s errors, such as hallucinations, can stimulate creativity by breaking conventional thought patterns. These phenomena, referred to as “hallucinatory creativity,” demonstrate that imperfections can become levers for innovation.

For organizations, integrating these technologies requires a thoughtful approach. It is not just about training employees to use them but also about developing their ability to judge, question, and reject the tool’s suggestions when they are not relevant. Companies must also ensure they preserve the autonomy and diversity of ideas, avoiding excessive dependence that would impoverish the richness of exchanges. Finally, generative artificial intelligence opens up unprecedented perspectives for inclusion.
